About us

It was a dream of Archbishop Alan de Lastic, former Archbihsop of Delhi Catholic Archdiocese, that every child in this world should have a family which loves and cares for him. This dream turned into a reality with the establishment of Muskaan Children’s Village situated in Badshahpur, Gurgaon in January 2005. Committed to the care of children in need, the Muskaan Children’s Village is professionally managed as a non-profit, non-government, voluntary organization.

The Muskaan Children’s Village is not an orphanage in the conventional sense of the term. Rather, it is a home, based on a strong foundation and solid family values. Here, children are well cared for and protected from emotional trauma, social and psychological isolation, abuse, exploitation and deprivation of basic human rights. Over the years, these children grow up to become responsible citizens in their own right.

The Muskaan Children’s Village was formerly known as the Archboshop Alan De Lastic Memorial

Our Children’s Village operates with the belief that the future of our children is the responsibility of each one of us. With a little help and support from you, we can give these children love, security, and an opportunity to shape their own future.

Typically about eight to ten children are grouped into a house-unit with a caring and loving Mother-in-charge. Like they would have at home, children here go to school, do their homework, and play together as brothers and sisters, sharing responsibilities and the joys and sorrows of daily life. All possible efforts are made to give them a good education and their choice of vocational training as per their talent.

It currently provides for about 40 children in the 4-14 years age group. Children of 4 years and above are admitted in St. Michael’s School located within the same premises. The children are educated here till Std. IV. On completion, they are sent to St. Michael’s Sr. Secondary School in Gurgaon for further studies. A mini bus is available to transport the children to and fro. An on-site weekly doctor’s visit takes care of the children’s health concerns. In cases of emergency, children are taken to the Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi
